Drive towards Portland along the A354. When you have gone through the town and up a steep hill you will see a sign saying viewing area. Turn left here and follow the road around to your right.
There is parking on your left in front of an amazing view across Chesil coast line.
There is a short walk from the parking area along a road. There is no pavement. Walk along this road and when it goes sharply to the left, take the turning in front of you. It is signposted to East Cliffe. This takes you around by the prison. Continue walking along the road until it becomes gravel. Keep walking until you come to a large broken gate. Go around this and there are grass pathways to your left that has views over Weymouth Bay.
You need to turn around and then walk back to your car.
It is worth going here for the views alone, especially on a clear day.
