Walk description:

The park is located by leaving the A6053 (Loxham Street), which is located in the Moses Gate area, just south of Bolton Town Centre. There is plenty of free parking available. The routes comprise of tarmaced paths and stone surfaced bridleways. Most paths around Rock Hall (where the visitors centre is) are suitable for buggies and wheelchairs although the lower one towards Cemetery Road is cobbled.

Additional notes:

There are several large ponds in the park with an abundance of birdlife on them. Parking and pushing wheelchairs to feed the birds is easily done. Ice cream vans are usually on site in the central car park area. There are more paths in the park than currently shown. Generally the paths to the north (following the canal) are stone surfaced bridleways, which given the occasional hard shove, should be accessible for all pushchairs, but not all wheelchairs. The ones to the south are more formal with better tarmac surfaces. There are some gradients involved in these, but with a bit of effort are accessible to wheelchairs given a strong push.
